Short and definitely HOT! The book includes 5 short stories that are interconnected, which makes it more interesting. Despite the limited introductions, the author was able to build the characters enough for you to understand their current situations. Short stories has its downside as well, and for this one, each story has more steamy scenes (60-70%) than the real story itself. It would have been much better if each story has more details like how do the PPA starts, how did the people accept the paranormal, when did they come out of the open, etc. Highly recommended to those who wants something sexy and steamy before bedtime.

Rate: 3.5 stars

This should have been a 4 or 4.5 stars for me because of the amazing plot; however, the erotic scenes have been over the top. Books with exquisite lovemaking really entices me, as long as the real plot isn’t being overshadowed. If I’m not mistaken, Kairos has more that 4 chapters of non-stop lovemaking and to think both characters barely knew each other while they’re at it. Fortunately, the real plot is really interesting, enough to keep me hooked until the end (I just scan through the sex scenes).

I like how chapter 9 & 10 rolls out. The torture scenes are very realistic, which kept me on edge until the end. I would love to learn more of the real story behind Sulwen’s bloodline, the Barrier, and their enemies. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series and hoping for more scenes about Kairos.

The first two to three chapters started out dull for me. This is where you’ll notice that it the book clearly needs editing. I had to skim through these pages just to get to the real story. The “Fates” concept is very interesting and I just wish the author elaborate on this. The story was more on the Mackenzie’s feelings towards Gabriel and vice versa, which only dampens the good story behind being a daughter of Fate. Overall, I rated it 3 stars because of the great concept conceptualized by a new author.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal).

I really wanted to love this book, however, I can’t ignore the fact that it looks rushed and the story line chaotic. The plot would have been great because of the multiple characters and their different abilities, but when you’re at the peak of anticipation on what’s coming, the characters end up dead. I just don’t get the logic of having multiple characters in the first few chapters and then let them die without any explanation. Well, maybe this will be explained in the next book. I just don’t like the idea of having the first book in a seriesĀ full of cliffhangers, which only leave the readers confused. The author may have assumed that this will leave the readers wanting more. It really does spike your interest on what will happen in the next book and I hope it will turn out better than this one.

This is definitely a fun and exciting read! It may look like more suitable for younger readers, but it appeals to me just right. I love the characters, especially Ira, Brynn and Sebille. There may be some parts that lacks excitement, that I almost want to skip some pages. Also, it would have been much better if there is more character development between Lex and Rosaline. But overall, the plot and characters make up for those parts that is uneventful. I would highly recommend this to everyone who loves fantasy books. This is definitely worth reading!

Honestly, the book start off flat. The first part of the book revolves around the life of Jack and his immortality. I almost gave up and I’m glad I didn’t. When Leah’s character entered the scene, everything that is questionable in Jack’s character began to have meaning. Their history, love story and tragic ending. The author really did a great job in incorporating death and the Council in Jack’s and Leah’s life. I can’t even put the book down until I reached the end of the story. The plot is amazing expect for the dreary start. There are times that I hate Leah’s character, because she’s portrayed like a whiny teenager. But overall, it is definitely one of the best paranormal book I’ve read so far, which doesn’t involve vampires, wolves, nor fairies. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.

I highly recommend this to lovers of historical romance/paranormal. This is definitely one of the books you’ll never forget.

Stars: 3.5

First off, this novel is longer than I expected. In paperback, it may be 322 pages, but for ebook it is actually 766 pages. I’ll start off with the story. It is indeed one of kind, as it revolves around Amanda’s ghost (w/c is a 3-month old baby) and her ability to control the weather through her painted room.

The twists and turns in the story was developed when I’m actually in the last quarter of the book and it will really keep you on your toes. The first half of the book consists of every character’s life story, particularly Katie and Bert. This I think makes this novel longer than necessary. I also skipped some parts pertaining to meteorology since I think it’s very technical, especially for a reader who’s not into it.

I would recommend this to everyone who loves paranormal with the twist of crime and suspense. This may be a long read, but the plot and the climax are worth it.
