Before He Was Famous by Becky Wicks

Before He Was Famous (HotFlush, #1)Before He Was Famous by Becky Wicks

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First off, I would like to advise you to have a hanky on hand as this will bring you tears of joy, sadness, and triumph. It also includes unlimited romance and butterflies in your stomach. =D

This is the first time I read a novel from Becky Wicks and I was reluctant at first. I assume that it will go along the usual story line and cheesiness like in most romance novel, but I was so wrong. With the first few chapters alone, I was totally HOOKED! This is one of the few novel’s I’ve read that doesn’t have any dull pages. I know that even some of the famous novels has its own dreary parts where we tend to skim just to reach the exciting ones, but this one is truly different. The author really knows what she’s doing and you can see that she really has the edge in becoming a great (& famous!) author.

The plot is very well-researched, as if you’re actually thrown in the midst of the rich and famous. I didn’t find any loopholes in the story line, which is usually the first thing I’d notice when reading a book. The characters are well created and established, making them all essential in building up the story. One of the lines I would never forget is “You have to fight to stay on the shore, no matter how many times it pushes you away.” I can’t wait to watch this line being told on the big screen. I wouldn’t even be surprised when this happens. This novel never fails to surprise me and the story’s twists and turns are definitely something to look forward to.

I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to fall in love again. This is definitely one of the stories you’ll never forget.

Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This is a compelling love story with a twist of sadistic suspense. It compels you deep into the story but abruptly wipes all your romantic notions in an instant. Though, it does lack consistency in some parts, it alleviates its shortcoming with a different kind of twists that most Nicholas Sparks’ books never left without. If you want to have a different reading experience then you have to include this book on your list but if you want to be starry eyed and fall in love over and over again well this book is definitely not for you.
