My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Honestly, the book start off flat. The first part of the book revolves around the life of Jack and his immortality. I almost gave up and I’m glad I didn’t. When Leah’s character entered the scene, everything that is questionable in Jack’s character began to have meaning. Their history, love story and tragic ending. The author really did a great job in incorporating death and the Council in Jack’s and Leah’s life. I can’t even put the book down until I reached the end of the story. The plot is amazing expect for the dreary start. There are times that I hate Leah’s character, because she’s portrayed like a whiny teenager. But overall, it is definitely one of the best paranormal book I’ve read so far, which doesn’t involve vampires, wolves, nor fairies. I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.

I highly recommend this to lovers of historical romance/paranormal. This is definitely one of the books you’ll never forget.

Stars: 3.5

First off, this novel is longer than I expected. In paperback, it may be 322 pages, but for ebook it is actually 766 pages. I’ll start off with the story. It is indeed one of kind, as it revolves around Amanda’s ghost (w/c is a 3-month old baby) and her ability to control the weather through her painted room.

The twists and turns in the story was developed when I’m actually in the last quarter of the book and it will really keep you on your toes. The first half of the book consists of every character’s life story, particularly Katie and Bert. This I think makes this novel longer than necessary. I also skipped some parts pertaining to meteorology since I think it’s very technical, especially for a reader who’s not into it.

I would recommend this to everyone who loves paranormal with the twist of crime and suspense. This may be a long read, but the plot and the climax are worth it.

This book is very different than most paranormal books I’ve read. The synopsis is very vague, which only makes it more interesting since you really have no idea on what to expect. The author is very imaginative and you can really see it on every page. Everything is intricately described making it realistic enough for you to believe that it is indeed all true.

I just don’t like Elizabeth’s character which I think is underdeveloped. It looks like she was just inserted in the story so that the protagonist will have a love interest. The “fall in love” part is also unbelievable. It happens so fast that you would think it was done just to finish the story ASAP. Despite this, I would still recommend it to mystery/thriller/paranormal fans who wants a different/unique concept.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal)

Rate: 4.5 stars

I wouldn’t be surprised if this will become a bestseller. The author sure knows how to incorporate her characters in an intricate plot that involves almost all creatures of paranormal. This is like a mashup of Twilight and Fifty Shades of Grey, which makes it more interesting for adult fans of Paranormal. The sensual and exotic parts are definitely the thing that’s missing with the Twilight series. The book has so many characters and at first I almost got lost in knowing who’s who but as I read on, I begin to accept the fact that everyone has his/her own part to play and they are essential to make the story as good as it is. Personally, it would have been great if Alex has her own powers (not just special blood, which is kinda bland).

The reason I’ve given this 4.5 stars is that there are some annoying parts that I can’t help but notice. One of this is when the portal is closed, the story begins to progress rapidly, and I mean RAPIDLY. I can’t help but feel it was written that way just to finish the book. Another is there are some unnecessary scenes, which I think the book will progress nicely with or without it. (Ex. Scene with the pilot)

Overall, the plot is definitely something and it really makes up for the bad. I would definitely watch out for the rest of this series and I would highly recommend this to adult paranormal fans.

I’ve read so many books on paranormal genre, but what makes this book different is that it treads on a different path. It is a refreshing read, especially if you’re into prophecies, witches and everything in the supernatural world. I love some of the characters like Alec and Ivy, but not Fawn (sorry). I don’t like that she turns into a whining teenager despite her being a college student.

There are also some instances that shows it is indeed a debut novel, like inconsistencies and repeated scenarios, which is not even needed. It only makes the book a long read despite the short plot. The scene wherein Fawn hated Caleb for what he did takes on several pages and it actually pushes me to boredom.

The plot is definitely something and despite the few unfavorable points, I would still love to know what will happen to Fawn and Caleb’s love story.

I would recommend this to paranormal lovers like me who wants a refreshing a fun read.

Before He Was Famous by Becky Wicks

Before He Was Famous (HotFlush, #1)Before He Was Famous by Becky Wicks

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

First off, I would like to advise you to have a hanky on hand as this will bring you tears of joy, sadness, and triumph. It also includes unlimited romance and butterflies in your stomach. =D

This is the first time I read a novel from Becky Wicks and I was reluctant at first. I assume that it will go along the usual story line and cheesiness like in most romance novel, but I was so wrong. With the first few chapters alone, I was totally HOOKED! This is one of the few novel’s I’ve read that doesn’t have any dull pages. I know that even some of the famous novels has its own dreary parts where we tend to skim just to reach the exciting ones, but this one is truly different. The author really knows what she’s doing and you can see that she really has the edge in becoming a great (& famous!) author.

The plot is very well-researched, as if you’re actually thrown in the midst of the rich and famous. I didn’t find any loopholes in the story line, which is usually the first thing I’d notice when reading a book. The characters are well created and established, making them all essential in building up the story. One of the lines I would never forget is “You have to fight to stay on the shore, no matter how many times it pushes you away.” I can’t wait to watch this line being told on the big screen. I wouldn’t even be surprised when this happens. This novel never fails to surprise me and the story’s twists and turns are definitely something to look forward to.

I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants to fall in love again. This is definitely one of the stories you’ll never forget.

The Witch Who Cried Wolf by Sarah Mäkelä

The Witch Who Cried Wolf (Cry Wolf, #1)The Witch Who Cried Wolf by Sarah Mäkelä

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received this book in exchange for an honest review (LoP or Lovers of Paranormal)

This is definitely a good read, especially if you want a short story with an interesting plot. The characters are well-developed and everyone has given its fair share of the limelight. I also love the twist and turns in the story line, because it keeps me on edge as I turn every page. And because of this, I was able to finish this in one sitting. There are just few loopholes in the story line, but I hope answers can be found in the next book.

I’ll be very delighted to read more books written by this author and I hope to read more about Mia & Ethan’s love story. I just wished the next novel to be longer than this one. 🙂

This is highly recommended to paranormal fans who wants a good but short read.
